Radio Ltd. 1924-1957
AMA Radio Ltd was the first Chinese radio manufactory
company in China. The Su's brothers, particularly Su Zugui,
Su Zuguo and Su Zurao, jointly founded AMA Radio Ltd.
in Shanghai in 1924. AMA mainly produced and sold radio
parts and components, crystal receivers and radio receivers at beginning.
Su's brothers put up its plate in the name of AMA Radio
Ltd. and started business operations in October 1924
(the 13th year of the Republic of China since 1911).
Initially they dealt with radio devices and parts and
components, tools, instruments, books, and so on. Besides
supplying the necessities for radio amateurs, AMA also
voluntarily served as the technical advisor for customers. It also compiled and published scientific and technological books such as "China Radio" magazine (1927-1937), and had a thriving radio repair business, supporting its AMA brand products.
AMA built up a first chinese owned broadcast station with the transmitting
power of 50W at No. 323, Jiangxi Middle Road in September
1929 and officially launched the first broadcast on
December 23 in the same year. In the January 28 Songhu
War of Resistance Against Japan in 1932, the AMA Radio
Station broadcast the war news calling on people to
raise goods and military supplies for the 19th Army
and numerous patriotic people made great contributions
in money and materials. As a result, and in recognition
of AMA efforts, the military headquarters of the 19th
Army delivered a special thanksgiving letter to AMA
Radio Ltd.
During the period of 1933-1937, AMA Radio Ltd. increased
its economic growth rate by six times each year. After the August 13 Incident in 1937, Shanghai was occupied
by the Japanese army, and AMA Radio Station had to close
down its broadcast. After the victory of the War of
Resistance Against Japan in 1945, AMA Radio Ltd. not
only resumed the broadcast service of its radio station,
but also resumed the manufacturing of radio receivers
and radio set products. The products of AMA widely sold in China and Asia market.
Through the merger with Asia South Manufacturing Plant
in July 1952, AMA Radio Ltd. was renamed as AMA Electromechanical
Ltd. It was renamed as Shanghai
AMA Electric Appliances Plant in May 1957.
AMA Infotech Development Inc.
1997 till now
AMA Infotech Development Inc. was re-found in Canada in
August 1997. The new AMA Infotech is taking on
its new service ¨C helping the international companies
to expand their business in the enormous China Market,
seizing the opportunities in IT, Telecommunications, Outsourcing and Beijing 2008 Olympics related business sectors.
